I had the Mini Van out in the rain yesterday Undecided It did fine, the wipers sure move slow.

I have not really been paying attention to this thread but I saw this and had to say something. I think she said

"Forest, life is like a box of chocolates, there is no guide and it will seem like all you ever get it the one with the sticky gross gooey stuff inside while everyone else gets fudge and caramel"

After reading that, I may not have it just right, it's been a while since I've seen that one.

Forest shortened it up for his mama, "Mama always said life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna' get!" This is not to say the DVD is just horrible (it is not), I just had higher expectations. I paid $40 for the "Mini @ 40" DVD and it was great! Our MMW2005 was a blast. I took over 200 pictures (as I am sure you did too Chris), I also took some video clips of the RC Racing with my camera, we know Starlord has some video clips of track time at Altamont. Others may have been doing the same with their cameras. If we pooled our supply of material and put a little time into production, I am sure we would have a DVD equal to or better than Invisions. I know Gordon put some effort into this and I am glad he was there to have fun with all of us. I am not saying Gordon is a bad guy or that he does bad work, I just expected more...

I want to be kind to my fellow Mini / MINI owners, after all, it's not like MOASF or NORCAL MINIS paid Gordon outright to produce the DVD -- had we paid a seasoned broadcast professional, it would probably cost us $$$ up front, as well, production would run a higher pricetag for the slick, polished quality finished product we'd surely demand.

But here, we have a "mom & pop" operation who kindly volunteered their free time and efforts, doing the best job they could do, given the scope of the event, challenged by limitations of both equipment and experience.

At $40 each, multiply by the number who purchased it, this should more than compensate Gordon and crew for what we ended up with.

That being said, I believe MORE is always better. If we take the combined footage from Gosheshe, Hypersprite, Blue Meanie, myself, and anyone else who took snapshots, videos, whatever, I bet we would come up with a pretty cool companion (uhm, compilation?) which would only help to complete the official DVD set Wink who's with me?

hey 64 Mini Van, your DVD's (all 4 of them!) are on the way... just UPS'd them out today.

You got those two silly MMW DVD's from who knows where :Smiley

plus. as promised you now have a copy of my MMW DVD  Cool
very cool I think.. since it contains a bunch of stuff left out of the official DVD,
like almost ALL of the first few groups' AutoCross runs in VIDEO!! yippee!

..and I threw in a bonus DVD which I call "Mini Archive #1" just check it out and let me know what you think..
MINI commercials, internet films, stuff from the MINI factory, some clips I uploaded earlier, and what not.. hope you like it!
